All new construction and redevelopment sites in the SEMSWA service area are required to provide stormwater controls to address higher runoff volumes and pollutant loads associated with an increase in impervious surfaces once the project is completed. These controls are here referred to as Water Quality Facilities.
Water quality facilities must be periodically maintained to ensure functionality. Therefore, SEMSWA requires the owner to conduct facility inspections to identify any maintenance needs such as sediment or weed removal. Inspections must be performed at least once annually (see Annual Self-Inspection Forms), and remember to document any maintenance activities performed (see Maintenance Forms).
Unsure if you have a water quality facility on your site? Please see our Maintaining Your Pond or Other Stormwater Feature page.
