Master Plan Projects

See Current Projects Page

The Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) produces several types of Master Plans, each of which results in generating different kinds of information.  The most common types of Master Plans include:

  • Major Drainageway Plans (MDP)
  • Outfall System Plans (OSP)
  • Flood Hazard Area Delineation Studies (FHAD)
  • Stabilization Plans
  • Hydrology Reports

Master plans are studied by watershed and therefore generally include more than one local governmental jurisdiction.  Within SEMSWA’s jurisdictional boundaries, the Master Planning Program is managed by Monica Bortolini P.E., C.F.M.  Updated each year, local governments complete a 5-year assessment of master planning needs.  Results from these studies are used to plan for the future and include projects that need to be done for safety, to protect against flooding, to keep channels stable, etc…
